er.
Is it really necessary that the package must be able to be upgraded on
every architecture!? If we have 10 (or more) architecture to support,
it is very likely that packages break on a single architecture and
hold on the whole improvement process aided through more people
testing new soft
ey are warnings and for a later point they will be errors. So most
of the packages will be changed through the normal update
process. Only for the (hopefully) few remaining packages extra work
has to be performed.

superb, IMHO that's called a Live-CD. Would it be possible to
integrate the creation stuff into the debian-cd script? It would be
really nice if people can test Debian on a CD-ROM first.

Can we discuss these documentation topics on debian-doc, please?

there's no
need for a separate german CD set, as the official images don't
contain the non-free section. (or let it out of our distribution -
there is a note in our DFSG about this aspect, but I can't remember
what it says)
Happy new year

isn't this obsoleted by the f77 frontend to gcc!?

alternative would be to split the source. This way the client side
would be on every official CD.

is vaporware.
A solution can be to use autoconf for the architecture specific things
and let the rest do from dpkg.

Debia
Hello!
I want to create a Packages.gz file for local files, i.e. on a CD-ROM
or ZIP floppy.
Using
dpkg --record-avail -R /usr/src/deb
it's possible to get the information "manually", but how can I write
it to a file??
(dpkg version was 1.4.0.8)
Thanks

something near to the release)
Any ideas?
Thanks

Can someone else check this behavior, please?
(It's likely that an install through ftp works fine - I can't remember
exactly)
Any ideas??

So. Why is dselect leaving out the packages in contrib and non-free?
Any ideas? Are there any missing symlinks?
Many thanks

ready for upload soon. It
compiles fine, but I haven't yet started it. The main problem seem to
be that it depends on exactly nsgmls 1.1.4. I don't know if it matters
if used with another version. We will see.
