You probably need to add « splash » to your kernel boot line.

Hi list.
There’s a bug [1] opened for licensing issues with the gnome foot icon
(nightly-splash.png).
However I don’t think I’ve ever seen that icon used anywhere.
Debian code search mentions no reference to « nightly-splash » and
grepping around my own machine didn’t either.

Hi,
are you using EFI or standard bios ?
Do you know the resolution GRUB uses ?
You may get that kind of information from the grub commandline (hit C
from grub menu) by typing videoinfo or vbeinfo depending on grub mode.
The output of :
update-alternatives --display desktop-grub
could be use
Since Jessie the GDM background is not themed anymore, and uses the default
Gnome noise pattern.
So closing this bug.

There was one grave but trivial bug I introduced in 9.0.0~exp1 (#843727) that
was fixed the same day it was raised and is now pending upload, and
miscellaneous other fixes and improvements.
Also I’ve worked with Maximiliano to get Debian themed SDD

Hi Holger,
I would like to have that done too, with a few reservations :
- If we make it a recommend / depends I'd like to see it activated by default,
as that's what you'd expect next.
- But current Plymouth integration in Debian is kind of minimal and I wouldn't
recommend making it a default.

Hi Michael,
my pleasure. :-)
And also it's Juliette Belin's fault that we have such a nice theme proposal
for Stretch, I don't take credit for that.
For fsck/others I think the support is to be done… everywhere else !
Basically we've taken inspiration (read blindly copied) what Ubuntu does, so

Agreed.
I'd like to let 9.0.0 land in testing and then we should have just the time to
push 9.0.1 to unstable and to let it migrate to testing before the final freeze.

OK give me a few mins to test and commit the fsck label alignment fix if it
works.
I'll push 9.0.1 to mentors with/without it depending on the result.

Hi Peter,
is this bug still happening on recent Debian versions.
If yes I'll assign the bug to kernel or Xorg as it's probably where the problem
is coming from.
If no I propose closing this bug.
Thank you !

Hi Marko.
Thank you for your bug report.
I'm not sure it's raised against the correct package tough, or I will need more

January and testing since 14th January. It’s not that long in testing
but we’ve received relatively little bug reports, which were either
