Hi,
I don't have the patch around but I believe you can get the patch by
searching the mailing list and ask the patch author directly.
I don't use dia currently but there's a workaround you can try: try
other canvas items (such as a database box etc.) into which you can
input chinese.

I am using dia 0.93 under debian unstable now. But I got the same
problems,can not input chinese (TW) in
canvas, like you have.
Do you still keep the patch as you say on mailing list.

support problem; it seems that the issue has been dropped for now due to
lack of developer interest.
There is a patch to enable chinese input into DiaText and related
