Ok, I ran apt-get under console, so I did see it rebuild initramfs, which twigged me to what the problem might be. When I say no devices work I mean that no external drives mount, no printers are recognised, wireless card is dead. Nothing. So no userland devices, is I guess my point. Let me know wh
