Dear Marco, Thanks for the quick response. Further experimentation has shown that I can get into my system with an old 2.6.16 kernel that I have on there, but that no devices work other than the internal drives - such as when I try to start a network device. I dual boot, so maybe if you can tell me what a useful logfile might be for you, I may be able to mount the partition under macos and send it on.
