newer python triggered this bug, the fix
seems to be to fix escaping of a regex that matches whitespace.
I'll coordinate with upstream to see if they can release this fix soon,
otherwise I'll backport it.

Thanks for reporting, I had already seen the failure and am working on

building arch and arch-indep separately, which exposes a problem in the
rules file, but I hadn't tested this scenario before upload.

that we leave it disabled via a flag in /etc/default/pdns and leave
it to the admin to turn it on?

Here is a patch that fixes the signedness errors and some other errors
encountered while fixing.
I couldn't test this patch myself because I don't have any ext2

Here a patch that fixes the include part in debian/rules and changes the
dependency from postgresql-dev to libpq-dev, that comes from the
postgresql transition.
