In my experience apache-perl inherits its umask from process, invoking
/etc/init.d/apache-perl
Our web application creates session files. Our nightly maintenance
cronjobs use /etc/init.d/apache

makes perfect sense.

Just in case you're curious, firebird uses itself in the build process
and fb_lock_mgr is the shared lock manager used by
firebird2-classic-server. The lock manager never quits once started and
hence the left processes.

Looking at first bytes, this clearly looks like an endianness issue to me.
I'll see if I can make the same firebird.msg work on both little- and

After I lock my screen with gnome-screensaver from experimental, I am
then unable to unlock it.
When I press some key or move the mouse, instead of showing the unlock
dialog, It briefly shows the mouse pointer and nothiing happens.

making the needed changes in the build process, then backporting the
changes to firebird1.5. Considering that firebird never run on the
architecture, it is much better to start with recent version (2.x),
instead of all the hassle of supporting 1.5, without upstream caring.
