Sorry for the long delay. I've had a chance to investigate now and realised
that the issue was that I was using the wrong workflow for git-buildpackage and
so it was simply ignoring the tarball from uscan. I've fixed things now so that
the orig tarball matched the downloaded one, a

upstream and they weren't interested in disabling javascript or really
investigating the issue at all. As far as they're concerned, the security risk
is totally acceptable, which is fair enough.
