Initial reaction is that these days it is unusual to have an odd
number of sectors in a partition. I guess cylinder or no alignment
was used, rather than the default MiB alignment.

into the bash shell and neither package had any positive effect on this

there is no such thing.
Samba (with that spelling) is an implementation of the SMB protocol.
I suspect the package wants to refer to the SMB protocol (which is

As far as I can tell, iceowl (Sunbird) is no longer installable in
both jessie and sid. However iceowl-extension (Lightning) is still
being updated, the latest version being 2.6.4 (packaged as 24.2.0-1).

Sorry for the delay in getting back to the bug on this. It took me some
time to get some stable kFreeBSD testing environments set up (KVM for the
win, btw), and I ran through a bunch of tests on the package.
