Hi Joey and happy new year.
I'm wondering to close this bug, because we cannot find a correct way
to implement this: for core files, we need debug symbols, etc. The
people that generates a core, and want to report that to the
maintainer, can say so in the report and the maint can guide them (for

Yes, it was removed upstream.
I think it could be easily ported to GIO in its own package,

That is a bug, but I have no idea where that comes from..

Yeah, no I mean it doesn't really matter, but its also that it seems
like there's a lot of different libraries, even unused ones loaded into
memory for certain gnome apps and it seems like unnecessary is
unnecessary. But like I said, its just a "wishlist" thing.

Here's a fix for this bug. I can't commit it at the moment as I'm on the

I should actually read things rather than imagining they are still buggy... :/

Bug #506713 in gcc-4.3, which has just been fixed in unstable, results
in incorrect code generation in SPARC shared libraries. I identified
this as the cause of bug #490999 in kicker, but it presumably affects
other shared libraries and will require binNMUs to fix. However, doing

Does the code fail if you dpkg-reconfigure and tell krb5-config that
you are using DNS? My view is that the authoritative state for
whether you are using DNS (or more precisely whether you want your
kdcs in krb5.conf) lives in debconf and if you change that state, you
should run dpkg-reconfigure.

Please write up an explanation of what you think is wrong and why with
explicit citations to policy.
Once you provide enough detail, I'll consider whether this is RC or
not. I understand you've already convinced Russ, but it is entirely
non-obvious to me.
