Hit this "apt relying on shared writeable" issue today with a jffs2 issue.
N800/Maemo seem to have got around this by (I think using an older version
of apt?); it's all a bit messy and could really do with handling
transparently within apt.

setup_chroot.sh should also create /dev/null inside the jail. sftp-server is
failing without it
BTW, it might me helpful to include a note on the suid bit necessary to run

NOTE TO GTK+ MAINTAINERS
The GTK+ sample at [3] exhibits the bug. The first day of week is
"mardi" (tuesday) with LANG=fr-FR.UTF-8 instead of "lundi" (monday). And
it is "Monday" instead of "Sunday" with LANG=C
So I reassign the bug
