Ok. This is my proposal to fix this in stable:
https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/dovecot/
Try:
debdiff dovecot_2.2.13-11.dsc dovecot_2.2.13-11~deb8u1.dsc
and of course feel free to add anything I may have missed.
Thanks.

This is serious data corruption bug, and we have a fix for it since 12
days ago. Is there any hope that a fix for this bug is included in
Debian 8.1? Release managers say the queue for fixes will be frozen
next weekend.

Greetings.
Thanks to Jelmer Vernooij, who has just uploaded version 2.2.16 for
Debian unstable, I can confirm that this bug may still be reproduced
in version 2.2.16, so it has *not* been fixed yet.
Several months ago I was told "I can't reproduce it in dovecot hg", or
something like that. Well,
Sorry it might take me some time to get back to this bug. I was running
Jessie. The key problem here is reproducing the bug. Can you install and
run strace on the dovecot daemon or what ever program you think is messing
up the inbox?
Use -f to follow any fields and -o to save the output to a file.

I hope the maintainer does not mind if I tag this bug with "help".
We really need it.

Hello.
Sorry for the late reply. I have just realized about your messages.
Please note that in this bug I'm just the submitter, not the

address is received only by the maintainer abd the bug system, but not
by me.

already be aware of these options - so forgive me if you already are).
You can install strace and strace the dovecot process e.g.
Run ps axf and look for :

Hello.
I wrote about this three weeks ago but got no answer. I'm going to
officially "forward" the Debian bug this time, with all the details.
The test case is just 840 bytes long. Please give it a try.
