[short answer: Users can remove the electronics menu by removing the
extra-xdg-menus
package or by the "exmenen" and "exmendis" commands. See long explanation below]

This is actually a more complicated bug then it seems at first.

After installing arduino package, two launchers are showing up into the gnome
menu.
One launcher shows up into the "Electronics" software category and another
launcher shows up into the "Programming" software category.
