Thanks for the quick reply... I am sorry I have not responded more
rapidly. On my system, once I install grub2 and run grub-mkdevicemap, a
blank device map file is generated. The problem persists when I use an
alternative map file (test.txt in ~) as well. I verified the version
with gr

For this to be fixed we need to include grub-mkdevicemap in grub-common.
Matthew, could you please check if grub-mkdevicemap from grub2 generates a
device.map that includes your drive?
