I suspect the source of this bug is the fact that fontconfig is unpackaged but not yet configured when ttf-dejavu is configured by dpkg. I suspect this must be fixed either in fontconfig, making sure it isn't hooking into defoma before it is configured, or in defoma, by letting it depend or recom
