I am running Sid with KDE 4.x for a while, coming from Mandriva 2009.1.
In Mandriva, I was able to suspend/hibernate easily.
But in Debian Sid, I cannot suspend (nor hibernate but that's another issue).

Trying to upgrade to kde4, nvidia-glx-legacy-96xx had to be removed because it
conflicts with the xorg stack.
This seems to be the same problem as:

gcc provides SSP (propolice) stack protection to applications compiled
with the -fstack-protector{,-all} options. The actual canary value used
in this stack protection scheme, is supplied by glibc.
If glibc is built with the --enable-stackguard-rando
i had the same problem on ubuntu.
i found the source of the problem was /etc/default/cups, which set
LOAD_LP_MODULE to "yes", which in turn caused /etc/init.d/cups to load
the modules...
can you confirm this?
