I can verify this as well. I think it is related to the sample rate and
not the bit rate however. Sample rates of 22050 cause stuttering in the
sound and this to be displayed on the console:

Same here except I get a "fd0 read error" right after the first screen.
Perhaps grub is waiting for something to time out? But it looks like in
my grub.cfg that all floppy stuff is disabled.

I noticed that I was getting duplicate lines in my .bash_history.
Looking in .bashrc showed the line "export HISTCONTROL=ignoredups" which
obviously wasn't working. I removed "export" from the line

under that account I did not have any problems at all using konqueror
with fish. So I went back to my old account and deleted the
/home/user/.kde directory. This of course reset all my settings so I
