I was never able to solve this, and since then I moved on to another
system, so I wouldn't know if the bug still occurs.

Iceweasel/Firefox since the same time, although I don't use intel_drv.

I can completely reproduce the bug when xserver-xorg-input-synaptics is
uninstalled.

realized that since gsynaptics was also installed on my system, I had a
"Touchpad" item in the Preferences menu, and because of that I didn't
