Well, the autopkgtest for uwsgi-plugin-ruby accepts 2.0.28-1.
So maybe that's the bug right there?

Emscripten is in high risk of getting kicked from Debian testing due to
challenging maintenance, and with it all reverse (build) dependencies

Possibly, yes.
But both projects target the newer Sass standard, are both incomplete,
and both provide an executable and a library - where the libraries are
designed differently and therefore favored by different projects.

I'll just note that in my opinion as effective previous maintainer,

My (non-binding, I am not a lawyer) understanding of licensing is, that
saying "this font is licensed as FOO" does *not* imply that it is *only*
licensed by FOO, and it is therefore not a problem for Debian and its
users to use a font file which is declared as lice
rfectly understandable if you miss that: That hint is not reliably
machine-readable, raising the burden for taking it into account -
particuarly, I imagine, for mass bug filings.

default $HOME directory is not writable.
If that is the cause here, then it is not a bug in the dependency, but
instead a bug in the Debian packaging of the project, which needs to
setup a writable XDG_DATA_DIR if truly needed by the project or its
dependencies.

metadata operations on Debian bugreports
using the command-line tool "bts" part of the Debian package
devscripts. That also has a manpage - `man bts` which I find easier to
understand than the general documentation at https://bugs.debian.org/

rtunately it is not ideal: fallback build-dependencies are ignored
on official build-daemons.
I have fixed the issue now, using a more sloppy open-ended dependency.
I appreciate the effort, regardless.

I have consequently lowered severity slightly, and tagged this as
needing more info to assess the situation.

prefer faster processing, then either nudge me some more or do a
zero-day NMU, which is fine by me given the narrow changes isolated to
the provided patch.

I have a package ready for experimental now - only blocker
is that it (and also rust-rustls-webpki already in experimental)
requires rcgen 0.15.
That's bug#1085015, filed earlier tonight.

that blocking bugreport that seemingly there is nothing more that can be
done - the package is as fit as is reasonably possible, and is expected
to stay that way for years ahead.

Sorry for suspecting sloppiness on your part - if it is any consolation,
I was surprised.

Apparently none of us tests autopkgtests: Turns out your patch was
correct after all, albeit incomplete.

Please do - I have no use for it, and you and I are apparently the only
uploaders (assuming that has any bearing,
and add the blocker.
I saw the bug closure before tagging and posting here.
Seems you are narrowly looking at the state of the *unstable* suite,
where I am talking about the benefits *across* suites of tagging.

That blocking hint is potentially useful also later when the packages,
maybe not in sync, transitions to other suites in Debian or some of its
derivatives.

gagement for you
new folks in this team?
What this bugreport is asking for is not *closing* bugs, but *dealing*
with them, which involves interaction with the Debian bug tracker. And
the concern I raised was that I am not sure that I can muster the tasks
besides narrowly patching, on my own.
In oth

Why later? Whay not now?
You are aware that there might not be a later, right?
You are aware, that if you reappear close to the next freeze, it may
again be too close
ortant part of your post.
Real life is more important than *any* issue tracker of UI:
Take a break if you need it. Reach out and a voice chat with me if that
is needed/wanted. Have fun!
