I'm certainly getting these. I was out for the holidays however.
I certainly support the idea of team maintenance if debian-edu-pkg-team wants
to take it.
The latest upstream should be packaged instead though, 4.2.4a

Messing with the /etc/environment file is probably a bad idea as it is
owned by the libpam packages and may contain user settings.
A lot of users are encountering this problem when upgrading from past
versions, in particular when converting to UTF8. Doing nothing at all
seems like a poor id
Please post the contents of your ~/.dguitarlog.txt file. The
unexpected vendor string message is an informational error which does
not bail out of the program.

-It is a patch for the sarge package, which I forgot to add to the
header (which is added here).
-I am not certain the header information is filled out correctly in

Fedora Directory Server provides server-side sorting. The client for
an OpenLDAP server has to download all entries and sort them client-
side. This can be a show-stopping issue in many situations,
including large address books and medium to large enterprise
deployments.
