I used gdm in Wheezy but maybe it was lighter then, less similar to the
gnome-shell itself. Maybe now gdm3 is faster in the transition to the
gnome-shell though.
This partially explains the deterioration of the boot-to-login t
n the Wheezy/Debian 7 installation.

I found, because it was causing systemd to time out waiting for a non existing
disk, that the swap partition was configured with the wrong UUID in my
/etc/fstab, that is, not matching the one given by the command
ls -
The disk waited till timeout by systemd was the swap partition:
it was configured with a wrong UUID in /etc/fstab.
Since I've never modified the file, I guess it could be an installer bug
(I've just filed a report).

The problem happens also with version 1:12-2-2 to which I reverted and

Hi,
I seem to have the same problem. I'm using squeeze, but I couldn't have my
microphone work also with lenny.
Issueing the command
arecord | aplay
I can hear only noise.
I attach the output of all the commands that Elimar asked for.
