system to the target host disappears. This is surely not the desired
behaviour, since it breaks the loop that is assumed to be infinite;

I can confirm this problem. It appears to me like a mamory leak as well.
I'm currently running version 1.2.6+rc7-2 this appears to eat up memory
far slower than 1.2.6+rc8-3 which i used before. so it runs several days

I sometimes get an "Unbalanced parentheses" error with the m// operator.
The only way to get rid of it is to quit Emacs and restart it. Here's a
way to reproduce it:
