Yep! Fixes the crash I was seeing, and the pointer is functional again
now on kfreebsd-amd64. Thanks a lot.

If this is a regression introduced in 8.2-2, it is not an issue for
stable as is (was) stated on the new dashboard:

Hi Jak,
I would think this is the right way to pass that option from grub.cfg to
the installer (this syntax works for rescue/enable=true at least) :
set kFreeBSD.preseed/file=/cdrom/preseed.cfg

Hi,
Am I right in thinking the suite was changed here (stable-security ->
security-master) instead of the upload queue (ftp-master ->
security-master i.e.
ftp://security-master.debian.org/pub/SecurityUploadQueue/ ) ?

Although the binaries appear to be fine when I execute them (without X).

Also check the output of /proc/partitions to see the state of the

That's all from the system logs around this time.

And of course please reply back here to let us know what the problem
turned out to be. I'd like to gather enough info to make for a useful

Oh great, this is only reproducible on what was going to be a production
machine... but not in my development VM, even though it is also
ror, try
this in the Alt-F2 console shell:
# chroot /target /bin/bash
# mount -t linprocfs linprocfs /proc
# exit
and go back to the installer menu on Alt-F1 to try it again.

so do:
`mount -t linprocfs linprocfs /proc` to get a working /proc filesystem
`update-grub2` should then be able to [re]write the GRUB2 bootloader if
that's what's missing.
You must `exit` from the chroot first if you want to run `reboot`.

three people have seen this now (including me) and it requires manually
working around from the the installer shell, such as:
# chroot /target /bin/bash
# mount -t linprocfs linprocfs /proc
# update-grub2
# exit
Apparently it is not specific to ZFS.
May be somehow related to http://b
as root, I issued ' grub-install /dev/da0 ' and rebooted.
Surely that would put things back the way they were right after you
installed, before booting with Super Grub, so I don't see how the
problem went away.
