Would a newer version of a package exist only in unstable and stable but not
testing?! According to reportbug my version of aptitude (0.63-4) is out of
date, but the newer version exists in stable and unstable. I confirmed by
running aptitude and I have the latest (and only) version available!

Hi I'm trying to search www.debian.org/bugs to see if a bug report has been
created for an issue I'm having with aptitude. But once I click submit it's
taking a long time to do a search. Is this normal? Can I do a CL search in
kfreebsd?

Slim?
I don't mind helping with testing; since I'm running kfreebsd as a vm, when
I get a chance I'll clone the vm and install wheezy gnome, kde, and xfce.
Does pastebin work in kfreebsd? What about the bts package?

I'm planning to install X and a desktop environment on my wheezy kfreebsd
system. From the thread about gnome-terminal, I'm thinking to stay away from
gnome for now. What about kde - are the base packages fairly stable? Or should
I use a light environment like XFC (I think that's the name of it)

grub (normal boot for each kernel + single-user mode boot for each kernel).
And none of the boot commands for each boot possibility contain the kern.hz
command. Why would this be so? How can I ensure that the kern.hz parameter
is set and passed to the kernel upon boot?

Sid is unstable; experimental is a different build (correct term?).

In Debian GNU/kFreeBSD, is there an equivalent to /boot/loader.conf? Or can I
edit grub's config file to pass kernel parameters?
I was finally able to install kFreeBSD, but I'm having the same problem as I
mentioned in a previous thread - the vm is using up a lot of cpu even when the
os is idle
and cd1); I'm going
to try with 6.0.0.0.

I have paused the virtual machine for now. Any ideas? Should I just retry?
Should I run the install from the start again? Thanks for the help.

Hi is ZFS support working in the squeeze installer? If not should I try the
wheezy installer?

Hi I want to do a fresh install of kfreebsd, but wheezy not squeeze. What would
be the recommended method - install the base system of squeeze and then dist
upgrade to wheezy? I'm using the net install iso. Can I set the source list
during the install to use the testing repos?

Why not announce it as a change in sid then? I think a major change such as
default desktop should be made known.
