Hi,
I'll soon have an ADSL in my flat and I'm playing with d-i on a
Windoze machine running VMware just to get confident with the
installation process in order to get Debian up and running ASAP. I saw
a few threads discussed lately on this list about PPPoe and from what
I got it should be possibl

Hi,
I tried to install sarge using tc1 (sarge-i386-netinst.iso) on my new
laptop (Toshiba A30-303) with pppoe. I'm not a guru (I'm a newbie)
Everything went pretty smooth; when I got to configuring apt sources in
the 2nd stage and I pressed "back" and exited from the installation
system. Run pppoe
Seems like #256112 is the source of all my problems: after googling
seems like it causes problems with gnome, kde, mozilla, konqueror,
firefox and other browsers.
I'll go and fix the loopback interface
Hope this helps

Hi,
I thought that it could be useful both for developers and for testers if
the d-I images were associated to a file explainig which features
testers should focus on: occasional testers would probably send
installation reports as usual without paying too much attention to this
file, but more exper
Hi,
I'd like to play with expect in order to drive an automatic
installation; last night I managed to do a full install of tc1 using
qemu. Can anyone point me in the right direction (links,
examples...whatever)... My first goal would be to start an installation
with "linux26". Is not very clear to

Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite 1690CDT and I've had so many troubles with a
PCMCIA Digicom Palladio Dongless ethernet card.
To get it working with Woody it took me a long time.
I tried almost every version of the installer so far at sometimes it was
properly detected and installed and sometimes not
Hi,
I tried the pre-rc2 installer on my laptop (Toshiba a30-303); apart from
the bug #265183 regarding my adsl connection, I had problems starting
the Gnome session.
During installation I was asked to choose a hostname and I accidentally
choosed the default one ("debian").
Later on, when given the

I could have made it even simpler by saying that

Is the same as "libcairo2-dev_1.1.6-1_i386.deb" apart the compilation

Yes we do, but I'd play safe and leave it as next step.
Getting out working (u)debs asap would means we could start
Pushing for the gtk+directf set of packages.
Just my 2 cents

Why would you force ppl interested only in the x11 version to install
the directfb one as well?

No: include files differ.

Then what you said three mails ago is wrong.

Do you think I would have said that without having checked before?
You don't need a linux machine to check that; grab the -dev.deb and
-dev.udeb in the link p

The Gnome team will support the D-I team in producing the gtk+-directfb

I'm not sure they need help on packaging; I might be wrong but
I don't think the gtk is not ready because of technical probl
Hi Christian,
Following a couple of links I noticed a minor problem in [1];
In the table on top of the page, "Percent world population" row,
Both Etch beta 3 and post beta 3 : "56 to 50%".
Shouldn't that be 56 to 60% ?
