After installing using default options on a system with a ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT
card (RV610 chipset) , at boot the drm and radeon modules are loaded for the
console. However, the required firmware (/lib/firmware/radeon/RV610_pfp.bin) is
not installed
I'm having a problem with updates during a preseeded autoinstallation.
What I'm essentially looking for is the "right way" to provide a local
mirror along with a local updates repository to the installer with a
preseed file. I have found little to no documentation on this topic. It

I re-read it more carefully and better understood your point of view,
sorry for the too quick last answer !

Hi,
I am hit by this problem too. I am running Sid.
I debootstrap a second root filesystem into logical volume vg/deboot to
reinstall my original root filesystem. After re-installation of my system from
i386 to amd64 (deboostrap) I decided to save second root filesystem as second
"rescue" system.
This affects me too on a Lenovo E520. Using a USB stick which lights up
when accessed tells me that the installer does search for files on it,
it just doesn't care about them. In my case, booting with the firmware
files on the usb drive does not seem to work either.

Dear Maintainers,
please clarify what desktop environment will be the default in Debian Wheezy.
The toggling of a "switch default desktop task to xfce" commit in the Git repo
is somewhat confusing: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=tasksel/ta
