at the end of a successful installation finish-install is not able to umount
and eject cdrom.

I was convinced that the loop was unmounted since it seemed to logical to
me... I was wrong... the squashfs is still mounted, so there is no surprise
that /cdrom could not me umounted.
To umount /cdrom those two simple steps must added to live-installer:
# umount /mnt
# /target/sbin/losetup -d

I'd like to have xfsprogs available in recovery mode of the
installer.For me it's quite strange that fsck.jfs is available while
you have no option to check the corrupted XFS volume. Unfortunately
it's not always possible to use a live-cd.

No, I was not aware of the availability of this mode. On Centos, you use "linux
text" to boot a text mode installer that works well on vt100 consoles. Maybe
the menu should hint the user about this ...

one to type the password and one to confirm it. To get between the
two, one needs to hit tab or click the second password box. Hitting
