is a recent bug report against pcmcia-cs (bug no. 138309) which reports similar symptoms, and a possible fix is included in version 3.1.33-3 of the package. I suggest including this (or later) version of pcmcia-cs into basedebs.tar as a first attempt to fix this. -- Toomas Tamm
