Package: boot-floppies Version: 3.0.20 I am installing woody on a 486/66 with 16MB and three NE2000 compatible netcards (all of different make, two of them soft-configurable). I use the idepci set of floppies (even though the machine has an ISA motherboard) and then fetch basedebs.tar via NFS from another machine, using one of the netcards. So far everything works.
After about 40 minutes of activity, debootstrap freezes the machine completely (no reaction to keyboard, cannot switch VCs). The last thing going on seems to be setting up of pcmcia-cs (3.1.31-7). This is reproducible. There is a recent bug report against pcmcia-cs (bug no. 138309) which reports similar symptoms, and a possible fix is included in version 3.1.33-3 of the package. I suggest including this (or later) version of pcmcia-cs into basedebs.tar as a first attempt to fix this. -- Toomas Tamm e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Inorganic and General Chemistry voice: INT+372-620-2810 Tallinn Technical University fax: INT+372-620-2796 Ehitajate tee 5, EE-19086 Tallinn, Estonia http://www.kk.ttu.ee/toomas/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
