I've run the strace but I'm having difficulty finding anything of use in
it. Do you or any of the guys have any time to take a look?
Unfortunately, the archive of the strace which I've taken is too large
to email - is there some other method of getting this to you?

There are two groups of servers:
A) Those for which TASKSEL/PKGSEL do NOT hang at the dpkg-preconfigure
process
B) Those for which TASKSEL/PKGSEL does hang at the dpkg-preconfigure
process
The only hardware differences between these servers is that there are
different processors:
A) Intel Xeon 5
