Hi,
since version 1.7.2-2, sudo ships with a configuration making all users
belonging to the "sudo" group administrators.
It is enough to add the user to this group instead of adding him
manually to the sudoers file.
It will also allow such users

Using files from the same architecture solved the problem for me.
One way of preventing this sort of thing would be to add a little footnote to
the installation guide, in section 4.3.2.2 [1], just after footnote 8, that the
iso image should be for the same architecture as the hd-media files.

I encounter the same bug: I prepared an USB stick with a squeeze debian
installer,
following the instructions at
http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/ch04s03.html#usb-copy-flexible
I used the files from

I was unable to boot off any of the todays images
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/amd64/iso-cd/
with the simple command 'qemu-kvm -cdrom foo.iso'
The same command works with an image that was downloaded about 1-2 weeks
ago. The error message is 'cdrom error 0004'
I guess I should have reported back. Per someone's recommendation, I
tried again with the bits from the daily build - and all worked (pretty
much) fine. I reported back against a couple of other bugs I found, but
I must have missed this one. Thanks!

I just downloaded the current daily build, netinstall ISO, amd64. When
I went to try and install it, it didn't boot. Instead, I got my current
install's GRUB menu. Similar story in another computer.
Just to confirm, I tried using the ISO in VirtualBox, and it didn't
recognize it as bootable either

I just build a USB key containing the squeeze installer, based on the
bits currently linked from the debian testing installer page.
After booting, the installer starts up, but when it gets to the point of
looking for a .iso image, it reports mounting and scanning both my
