Hi,
we got another AMD64 machine at work, nearly identical to the one I
installed in late august, only difference, this one has an ASUS K8N-E Deluxe
mainboard. I set it up for Debian sarge/i386 and sid/amd64 with netinstall

Usability has been a major concern since the beginning of d-i
development. And, for instance, confusing users with complicated
locale settings is for sure *not* improving usability:-)

I have traced the cause of this bug to cdebconf when testing over SSH.
It could very well be this fixes translation-related problems in other
d-i modules as well.
The log from #d-boot below shows the analysis.

Hi,
I posted this to debian-user initially but realized this is probably a better
list to post to ...
I'm putting together a custom install cd and the first step seems to be
getting a local mirror. I am trying to do that with debpartial-mirror but
I'm having trouble fine tuning the config.

Currently, lvmcfg uses the LVM tools aimed at humans. However, there
are tools (lvs, pvs) which generate output which is much easier to
parse automatically, and you can usually specify exactly what data you
want to see. lvmcfg should use these tools.
