I managed to mis-generate a _pic.a file as an empty archive, which

I think that typeinfo section in 178511 comes from
throw "Some String"
I wonder if that's whats going on in this bug, too, somehow?

I redirected stderr in /sbin/debian-installer when it calls debconf
(ie /usr/share/debconf/frontend /usr/bin/main-menu 2>> /error.log),
and got this output:
Segmentation fault
shift: 30: can't shift that many

I have no idea yet what this means.
