I just got X to start for the first time with my new Debian 2.2 install.
When I reboot, however, it hangs on 'starting XFontServer'.
Even with the rescue disk I can't get the system to boot at all. Any
help would be very much appreciated...

I have to install Potato on alpha. The problem is that kernel generic.gz on cd set
hangs. I found kernel, rescue.bin and ohters (drivers) but there is another problem. I
boot them from hd after copying with aboot prompt like this b 4/linux root=/dev/ram
