modconf has a number of bugs that require attention. If anyone has time
to look into getting it fixed, please do so. The package is owned by
[EMAIL PROTECTED], and sources are in debian-boot cvs.

I uploaded cdebconf, cdebconf-dev and cdebconf-udeb to ftp-master today.
They have been moved from experimental to unstable, so things should be
much happier. Because of the move, it's considered a "new" package, so
it may take a couple of days before it moves into the archive.

I'm trying to install Debian on a Javastation (Krups model) using
another system as tftp and nfs server (Javastations don't have floppy
or harddisk drives, only network). I grabbed the latest bootfloppies
stuff from Incoming.

libraries needed by varios cdebconf frontends was bloating

Hello,
I have looked into the possibility of booting from the CD-ROM using
GRUB. The possible advantage is that the user can choose
which kernel to boot from.
After some research, I discovered that grub seems to be unable to
use the result used by "find".
i.e. We have to guess where the CDROM
I added two directories to cvs.
kdetect is a library that gathers storage device info from /proc, its
based loosely on what i sent to the list a while back but its cleaned up
heaps, i called it kdetect (k for kernel) becasue it doesnt do any
detection itself, just works out what the kernel has de
