Version of the used PCMCIA Module is 3.1.8-16 (potato final).
When card is inserted the following is shown:
eth0: found link beat
eth0: lost link beat
I tried to compile the sources for every kernel I had and nothing worked.
Using the pcmci
I created a Debian 2.2r0 'Official alpha binary-1' CD last week. I
used it to install the Nautilus kernel on a UP1100, but then the
machine wouldn't boot because of 'lost interrupt' errors. It has been
suggested that I use the generic kernel, not Nautilus, because the
UP1100 has SRM. However, I do
Hi people,
As the subject says. This happened to me while upgrading slink->potato, on a
machine with slink (hmm, perhaps it's potato, this happened even after the
upgrade) versions of mount and modutils, and kernel 2.2.16. This is the
fstab entry for the CD:
/dev/hdd/cdrom iso96
Compile the drivers into the kernel, not as modules.

Well it honestly looks like you are not selecting the correct DPT driver
when you compile the kernel. If you are patching the kernel source I
assume it's the I20 drivers? Make sure you are not selecting the
incorrect driver. Also I noticed when I just did this that for some
reason the ramdisk i

Hi all,
I've heard that some people were pissed after the addition of
add_modules_from_floppy in configure_drivers(). I can understand that. My
point is that new step is interesting for an installation system and that it does
not harm the user to answer "no" to skip it. Furthermore, if it
Okay, it is official, the problem lies within the new gcc 2.95.2. I
compiled a new kernel with gcc 2.7.2.3 and now it's working like a
charm. Although this may still be a small bug, when I boot the ramdisk
is still mounted ro and I still get the open errors on /dev/tty3. I
assume the open error

Newbie to debian, but not to linux,
I want (in order to be "full" GPL) to install debian on a server.
The SCSI RAID controler I use (DPT, module dpt_io.o) is not recognized.
how can I do a custom set of resuce/boot/disk in order to install debian
on my system.
All is working fine with RedHat and
Well it seems that the install process is not the problem... I setup
another drive on the symbios card and installed debian, then compiled a
new kernel for drivers for the RAID controller and created the
filesystem from there and got the same problem. It took forever to
create the filesystems.
They are working on the driver which at this point must be patched.
They plan to implement it into the kernel within by 2.4 I believe. I
have been testing and testing ( I updated my bug this morning also which
lets me believe this is not a debian related problem. I am about to go
download anoth

So, the deal is that the linux kenrel doesn't support it?
