On Raspbian the application omxplayer will do the job from the command
line. This player is pre installed with Raspbian.
If you want to play MPEG-2 or VC1 video you need to buy codecs.

I remember that there were some other performance related
imporovemnts apart from DMA for orion which made it into the N2100
kernel.

I installed Debian/NSLU2 Experimental 5.0beta1 from slug-firmware.net.
I tried to use the following device with no succes on my NSLU2:
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0471:0311 Philips PCVC740K ToUcam Pro [pwc]
modprobe pwc gives:
FATAL: Module pwc not found.
Can someone please provide a driver
