As fare as I know, Volker Hilsheimer from the QT team has sent the patch
to some KDE contributors who maintain the Qt 5 patch collection to
facilitate the inclusion of the fix.
This bug has been fixed in QT6 and ported to the 5.15 branch.

As I only have the patch for QT5, I cannot do more for now except trying
to get the QT6 specific patch and build custom packages to test as I
have done for QT5.

You can work on the backport :)
That means identifying the upstream commit that fixes the issue, try to
build a patche
