The 2.1.x is a technology preview. Don't run it unless your ready to deal with problems. Downgrading to 2.0.6 is not a problem. The new tables simply won't be used. My guess is the decoding problem with outlook won't be solved by that though, but don't let that keep you from trying, of course :-)
