I wholeheartedly agree. The same is true for the OSX packages. However, both
of those are private projects
In this case darktable should change "We provide several PPAs to add to
your Ubuntu installation" to something like "Community builds are
provided here (remember, they are unsupported by DT team):".

It seems there is some lower size limit for a mask fading area to be affected with shift + scroll. The workaround is to grow a mask, change its fading area with shift, and shrinking it to its original size.
