AFAIKT there wasn't any more input from that guy. At least I have never seen 
any code.

What is that supposed to do? I couldn't spot any explanation of changes in the 
README.md.

It would need someone to step up and write the code. The initially cited mails 
might have been a good start. Or not. We will never know unless we get a PR.
