A question from a prospective reader rather than author: Why do you
want to keep the number of words and images to a minimum? FWIW, I
find both very helpful when reading about complex matters.

ts, however, without the new Lensfun supported by DT, I cannot
realy tell. FWIW, I get *very* close without PC already.
This could mea to add the cylindical projection to Lensfun. It
would be good to make more tests, though.

This was incorrect. Vertical lines become straight but not
necessarily vertical (neither with LF nor with fisheye-hemi).

What Lensfun can achieve:
- Vertical lines are straight and vertical
- Image cropping is minimal
- Horizon is straight even if not in the centre

It is the lens correction module, and the projections that I
mentioned in the other posting.

There are already projections in Lensfun that correct differently in
the two axes. The setting of the centre point is not supported by
Lensfun, though. It has already been discussed a few months ago.

My question is that you still see this when you set scaling to 1.
If you then switch the lens correction module off and on, does the
image change apart from vignetting correction?

scales by 1.001 (1.002 with TCA). Possibly 1.028 was the value in
older Lensfun versions. But I can't tell for sure.
And if you set this to exactly 1, do you still see distortions?

Is the scale slider still at "1" after having activated the

Then, these angles could be exposed in the UI.

Sony's engineers went too far with applying vignetting correction to
RAW files, though.

If there really is no camera available to produce real RAWs, there
won't be an entry for this sort of correction in Lensfun. But at
least then, this gap is documented properly.
