You could. Personally, I'd just reconfigure the program. Probably
something went sideways/buggy in your old config file at some point, and
it'll be fine if you set it up again with the new config file.

I tried installing the full AMDGPU-PRO suite but couldn't get the
desktop to start, and eventually I ran out of time so restored the
system back to where I'd started.
Later I installed darktable 3.2.1 and Local Contrast works
