After today git update, darktable has stopped accessing images on the
disk. I've checked it at several hard drives, NTFS and ext4. Filesystem
is Ok and files are accessible with other programs.

Interesting query! In the case of the manual, this would be a subset of the
fourth definition:

I do it in the build/ directory, after building darktable.
