Then attach the resulting cygcheck.out file to a reply. Something is broken in
your installation. This command’s output will likely tell
strange thing is that bash works.

What happens if you run that from cmd.exe instead?
If nothing else, you should get some error message that will stick around, so
you can copy it into a reply.

I am logged into my workstation using the id "DOW\U074036". Of course the
services I mentioned to not run under my ID, but instead under "SYSTEM" (except
sshd, which uses privsep)

Hi folks,
I just uploaded getent-2.18.90-4.
getent is a Glibc tool which allows to fetch host, passwd, group,
protocol, and service information via a simple tool.
The -4 option introduces the -w/--windows command line option.
Together with the "group" and "passwd" commands, it generates

I am using the AD-enabled cygwin test versions (v33-0.5), with nsswitch.conf
setting to "db" only.
Occasionally when starting a cygwin terminal after a reboot I find that it get
the following message:
/usr/bin/id: cannot find the name for group ID 1125370
Note that this is not a group ID, but

No, not really. "Keep" is the closest implemented feature. Everything
else would be a work-around at this point. So PTC, I guess.

Version 2.8 has been available for a year. See

It would be nice to have Links package upgraded to the latest version to
enjoy the latest improvements.
Thanks.

Your app calls shmat, either the exe or some DLL.

Thanks Corinna.
My application does not explicitly use XSI IPC functions. It's an
ordinary C++ application compiled with gcc.
BTW, are ZN4muto7releaseEP7_cygtls and ZN4muto7acquireEm also XSI function?

Hi,
I could not find an answer to this: is it possible to pin a package
version with the Cygwin installer? Switching manually to "keep" on
every update is error prone.
Kind regards
