Thanks for the reply. It seems to be working now, although I didnt do anything.
Very strange. The cron.log file is still empty though. cron-config says no
problem found.

Two more pieces of information on the problem described below:
1) From XP command prompt the ftp works fine.
2) The only other anomalies I have noticed are the one described in
http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin-xfree/2007-12/msg00055.html and the fact that tar
fails with "A lone zero block" for some f

I have XP Professional (5.1.2600 SP2) updated with the latest software from
Windows update.
cygwin was installed with setup.exe about two weeks ago.
