Hi,
It seems that CGOS 9x9 is down: it only asks the name, password and
command list to the engine. It says on the web interface that games are
playing, but this webpage is not refreshing.

According to GTP, the simplest correct response is "= G3\n\n"

Cgos has it's own syntax - it's not GTP although it superficially
resembles GTP.
cgos3.tcl sits between your program and the server and converts the
conversation to gtp for your program.

The cgos server does not speak GTP. A common solution is to let the cgos
client cgosGtp.tcl translate the server protocol into GTP be

There is no 19x19 server right now - I brought it down due to lack of
interest and lack of disk space for 19x19.
I restarted the 9x9.

The same thing happened last week with my bot. It too got a negative time left

Thanks for continuing to maintain such a nice service for the computer
go community.
I too will be tracking down a bug today... CGOS seems to have
highlighted at least one severe problem in my bot.

going to spend some time today trying to fix it. I'm wasting more time

My script does the simple thing:
./cgos3.tcl $NAME $PASS "$PGM 2>/dev/stderr" $STOP
This works on Linux, and puts stderr back to /de
CGOS appears to have gone down again about 2 hours ago.
You can probably guess that I've recently added a bot to play on
CGOS... Does the server normally have this many issues? Also, what is
the best way to capture the output to stderr from the engine while
running on CGOS?

I haven't been watching it very closely because I've been out of town
for a while.
I restarted the server, let me know if it looks like there is still a
problem.
