I'll talk to Garrett tomorrow about licensing. That may be something I
can take off his plate, since you guys certainly don't want me
touching any actual code.
Off the top of my head I think we want the New BSD License for now, as
the least restrictive in terms of what code can be combined with wh

Wow. I have exactly t
Developers arguing choice of license makes about as much sense as
lawyers arguing choice of programming language. Until we are in a
position to have real legal counsel, we should use the least
restrictive, most permissive, most minimalist license possible so that
we give ourselves maximum flexibili

If you have a concern about the contribution agreement with the
CodePlex Foundation, then raise your concern with them and have them
pay their lawyers to address it. Having set up the legal processes for
the CodePlex Foundation myself, I know that (a) they should be willing
to do so, and (b) they h
I have been looking at Odata a fair amount in my "day job" as a good
example of Microsoft trying to do the right thing on the
ever-more-important issue of open data. And it isn't just a Microsoft
thing; check out Netflix's ue of Odata (more PoC than anything else,
but still).
Having said that,
You are going to want something like:
coapp --dep lists the other packages on which the named
package is dependent.

This is an area where I can probably help out. I'm no graphic artist, but I
have a pretty thorough knowledge of XML/HTML/CSS. I've also deployed and
managed a few PHP content management systems in my time, although I have no
idea how to get them running on Windows Server.

Documentation is something I may be able to help with, as long as it
is post-MVP Summit. My life between now and then is more than a little

This looks like something we ought to be paying attention to, and have
an opinion on. I haven't dug into the details yet, having just
stumbled across this story, but it has some clear similarities to
CoApp, and if its part of BizSpark then it has some degree of backing
from Microsoft:

You know you're getting close to code ready for prime time when you
start thinking about Easter eggs. I love this idea! -Mark

We moved largely away from LaunchPad, I know. Can someone give me the
quick summary of what our issues were? I have an upcoming discussion
with the good folks at Canonical on a related topic, and I want to
make sure I have the background story here straight in my own mind.

Ok, I've added a comparisons page on our wiki. If Garrett or others
have additional functional they want to compare or just know about,
add the item you want to know about on that page and I'll go figure
out how its done in each.

Yep. I'm getting the same result here. "This is the placeholder until

CoApp project, is exemplifying
some 'best practitces' here?" A better sense of the industry standard would
probably help sort out the strengths and weaknesses of your proposal.
