Dave,
Had my Martec rebuilt last year before we headed to the Bahamas. Folks at
Martec were easy to deal with. Had/have the only one blade deploying issue
primarily when I failed to stop/slow sufficiently before putting in forward

Steve,
FWIW I am constantly amazed how much water comes down inside the mast. My
mast boot is fine. On my boat there is plastic tubing that drains the mast
step into a container (bottom of cut off plastic jug - like the large gal
container for 2 cycle oil) that fits nicely between the stringers a
Joel
Helm seat is out on my boat. Can't imagine having it in as it is so tight

sides (though is a PIA to get around). So I will either stand behind wheel
or sit on either coaming feet on seats. You can sit/lean behind the
I have had both. FWIW I would never go back to Outboard. My Catalina 27 had
a 15hp and was pretty well designed for it. Transom had a cut out in the
middle and the motor simply tilted up into this cut out- no bracket. There
was room on either side for a 5 gal gas can. There was enough power(note

in. Will be sailing along the beach this weekend. Wind SSE at 12.

A first time. Found a missing impeller vane on my 3QM30. The whole damn
vane. Suggestions before I start tearing the who damned cooling system
apart? Its a raw water cooled engine with a Sen-Dur retro-fit.
Thanks in advance.

I use TowBoatUS and am on the Caloosahatchee though down river - they are

I would go with the remanufactured 3gmf30. This assumes you are comfortable
with the vendor. The 3gmxxx seems to be about right for the boat and it
should be a drop in replacement. That is what is in my 35-3. I believe the
new yanmars flipped sides for everything so oil filter, exhaust etc is

Agreed you are entitled to room- at least enough for a seamanlike
rounding - Another way to look at it is that you had an overlap -
probably well outside of the zone. Draw a line perpendicular across his
stern and your whole boat was likely in front because of the very different
angles hi
This just went down in our cruising area.

I have an '87 35-3 CB and am on the gulf coast of FL. Spent 3 weeks in
Abacos last summer without draft issues. Great boat. That said the real
issue on a 30 year old boat is how it has been maintained for 30 years. I
got lucky.

I have the ATN version of the mast climber and find it works fine. A taut
line to climb on is important. I find coming down is actually harder than
going up- you are tempted to take too big a step. Had the MastMate web
ladder on the last boat and it works but I found the steps uncomfortably fa
