Steve,
FWIW I am constantly amazed how much water comes down inside the mast. My
mast boot is fine. On my boat there is plastic tubing that drains the mast
step into a container (bottom of cut off plastic jug - like the large gal
container for 2 cycle oil) that fits nicely between the stringers aft of the
mast. Underside of flooring is routed out a short distance for tubing so
nothing is visible. It is about a 1 to 2 ratio- inch of rain equals 2 inches
in. in container. Very useful to keep contained especially in my CB boat
which has essentially a big flat bilge.... Have a 'y' valve in shower sump
system that lets me re-direct rarely used shower pump to a short hose I can
use to pump out container and rest of bilge as bilge pump is useless on that
last 1/4-1/2 in and with a flat bilge that's a lot.

TrustMe!!! 35-3
